London 2012 Home Head Journey

Why we're getting behind James and London 2012.

We are delighted to announce that we are now supporting local rower, James Foad, as he attempts to qualify for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Following the appointment of BMW Group as the Official Automotive Partner of the 2012 Games, BMW is now actively supporting British athletes, such as Ellie Simmonds and Louis Smith, via the BMW London 2012 Performance Team. Meanwhile, in line with the Performance Team initiative, BMW dealers like us will be working with local athletes, supporting their endeavours to qualify for Team GB or ParalympicsGB.

Southampton-born James trains locally at the Molesey Boat Club. He has been rowing since the age of 11. By the time he was 17 he had already won major competitions and in 2011, he won bronze in the men's eight at the World Cup Regatta in Lucerne.

James commented: ‘I love BMW and can't believe that I'm going to be driving a BMW 3 Series from now until the end of the London 2012. I have a really demanding training session and I do a lot of travelling to promote the Games so having the BMW 3 Series is brilliant. Thank you so much Cooper Cobham and BMW.’

‘We're really pleased to be backing James,’ said Paul Johnson, Dealer Principal at Cooper Cobham. ‘Attempting to qualify for the London 2012 Games can't be easy, so we're more than happy to help in any way we can. It's also a great opportunity for everyone connected with the dealership to get more involved with the 2012 Games.’
